About Empowher.
Empowher Northeast CIC is based in Witham House, Mandale Park, Belmont Industrial Estate, Durham DH1 1TH, providing a central and accessible location for our post-16 and adult learning provision.
We offer a supportive and engaging environment designed for young people who thrive in practical, hands-on learning. Our courses introduce learners to the fundamentals of beauty therapy, including skincare, nail care, make-up and professional salon practices, while also building confidence, communication skills and positive routines. Delivered in a nurturing environment by experienced tutors, our provision supports personal development, wellbeing and employability, helping learners gain recognised skills and a clearer pathway into further education, training or the beauty industry

Our vision
At EmpowHer Northeast, our vision is to empower individuals through education, creativity and personal growth. We believe in offering more than just training; we create meaningful pathways to brighter futures, stronger communities and renewed hope, supporting people to build confidence, resilience and lasting opportunities for success.
Our vision is to provide high-quality learning for vulnerable children and adults, creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. We aim to remove barriers to learning, build confidence and independence, and support individuals to develop practical skills for life, learning and work. Through personalised support and positive relationships, we empower learners to achieve meaningful progress and a more positive future.
Every year, we proudly take our Year 11 learners to the North East Hair and Beauty Awards, where they receive their trophy in recognition of successfully completing their course. This celebration highlights their hard work, commitment and achievement, and helps raise aspirations by recognising success in a professional, industry-led setting.
Alongside our work with young learners, we also deliver fully funded beauty courses for individuals within the wider community. These programmes are designed to support people who have experienced domestic abuse, teenage pregnancy or other challenging life circumstances. By offering accessible, supportive training, we enable participants to gain recognised qualifications, rebuild confidence and self-esteem, and move towards greater independence, wellbeing and employment opportunities.
